Varsity Investment Group broke ground on the 6-story Varsity College Park project in the summer of 2009 while opening its doors in the summer of 2010.  Besides anchoring the main entrance to the University of Maryland it also was the catalyst for the redevelopment of the Northern Route 1 corridor in College Park.  The development included 254 residential units with 901 beds along with 26,000 square feet of street level retail.  The project boasted celebrity chef Bobby Flay’s first Maryland restaurant, Bobby’s Burger Palace, and Looney’s Pub, an instant fixture for students and alumni before and after sporting events.
